In February 2001, Mr. Qu Jianguo led his team to embark on the journey of starting Canature Environmental Products Co., Ltd. (“Canature or the company”) in Lujiazui of Pudong New Area, Shanghai. From this simple beginning, Canature developed the first Chinese whole-house water filter.  Afterwards, Canature's environmentally friendly philosophy of “Whole-house Water Filter to Ensure Household Health” was realized in Green Villas, a high-end residential community in Shanghai. Canature products alleviated the existing water pollution and contamination issues, allowing for the safe use and consumption of water by  residents in the community.


In 2002, Canature rented a 6000 square meter factory in Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and initiated the production of whole-house water filters. The product was a huge success and was awarded the certification of "Hi-Tech Enterprise Achievement Transformation Project".  During the same year, the company was certified by ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.


In 2003, Canature purchased around 700,000 square feet of land in Pudong New Area of Shanghai and set out to build a modernized base for Research & Development and production. During the same year, the company was rated as a "Hi-Tech Enterprise of Shanghai City".


In 2004, through self investment, Canature kicked off Phase I of the R&D development project. The construction of the 11,000 square meter base for R&D and production commenced. During the same year, the company hosted a successful international symposium entitled “Nature Water and Fire, Energy Sources of Life”.


In 2005, Canature introduced the "Canature Research & Development Center" which included a sophisticated chemical testing laboratory, capable of testing to the industry's high standards. The primary purpose of the laboratory is to analyze the water contaminants in China and provide scientific testing for the quality control of residential water treatment products and raw materials. The Research & Development Center was honored as the “Pudong New Area R&D Institution” the same year.


In 2006, Canature received ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems certification and two accreditations of Shanghai Municipal Key New Products. The company developed two successful patented products tailored to solve water pollution problems in China.  These products include the Dual-tank Whole-House Water Filter and the Kitchen Water Filter. Both products were accredited as part of the "Hi-tech Enterprise Achievement Transformation Project of Shanghai City".


In 2007, Canature completed the construction of its 40,000 square meter plant and began operations. The Whole House Water Filters developed and manufactured by Canature received the certificate of "National Key New Product" jointed issued by four ministries of China. Canature was certified as a "Science and Technology Little Giant Cultivation Enterprise" and "Patent Cultivation Enterprise of Shanghai City". Canature's products were also accredited by CE and EU RoHs.


In 2008, Canature’s share ownership was restructured, and its total capital stock was increased to RMB82.50 million shares. Canature Brand commercial water purification dispensers were utilized in the Beijing 2008 Olympics and the General Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army (PLAGH). The company also received an honorary certificate signed by Jacques Rogge, IOC President and Liu Qi, Mayor of Beijing in addition to receiving a Letter of Thanks from PLAGH.


In 2009, Canature developed the core components for Water Treatment Systems including FRP tanks which received certifications from US NSF and Germany TUV. Canature Brand was appraised as a “Famous Brand of Shanghai City”. The company established a strategic partnership with TMMU University while also being listed as an "Encouragement Industry Enterprise" by the NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission) and the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology).


In 2010, the commercial water purification dispensers produced by Canature were adopted and utilized by The World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. Canature won the title sponsorship of "Canature Cup” for the International E-Paper Competition for Young Journalists. The event provided an excellent opportunity for primary and secondary school students to enhance their understanding of The World Expo, water and environmental pollution as well as health related issues. During 2010, Canature was also listed in the "Government Encouraged Environmental Products Catalogue".


On November 2nd, Canature was successful in obtaining their first IPO and was listed on the Chinese Stock Market (Stock Exchange Code: 300272) becoming the first listed company in the Water Treatment Industry in China.  Canature's independently developed Multi-Port Control Valves received NSF certification in the US, which showcase Canature's R&D team of Residential water Treatment System Specialists.


2012 was an eventful year, on April 12th, Canature brands were named "Well-Known Trademarks in China" by SAIC.  Semptember 17th marked the completion date of Canature Bentair Industry Park, located at No. 588 Chaun Zhan Road, which focused on the manufacturing of Reverse Osmosis (RO) products.  On October 12th, Canature was listed as "The Most Socially Responsible Company" by National Business Daily and other valued investors.


Canature introduced the Advanced German Automatic Blow Injection Winding Machines, which produces pressure tanks at an impressive rate of one tank per minute. The purchase of another plant during 2013 with an area of 25,700 square meters provided space for a large production plant and a modern National R&D Centre.  During 2013 Canature began constructing in-house RO membranes and cartridge filters.  Doing so has allowed us to make continuous improvements to our products, thus staying competitive in the RO market.
